Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced, eager, and creative Technical Manager to seamlessly work alongside the Maintenance/Reliability and Capital Projects teams. This will require expertise in Maintenance, Technical and Engineering fields related to the Petrochemical industry.

Bring Concepts to Reality
  • Accountable and responsible for identifying whether an asset requires preventative maintenance, based on risk assessments, maintenance policies, OEM maintenance manual, and analysis of the maintenance history
  • Responsible to create metrics and reporting of maintenance analytics and report to management on pre-defined key performance indicators like uptime, bad actor, MTBF, MTTR, and other metrics
  • Identify problem areas and development of planning for execution of mitigations, maintain records for EOL calculations and apprise management as actions are impending; via Maintenance planning and CAPEX planning
  • Responsible for determining and adjusting the required preventive maintenance for an asset to include: specifications for the type of maintenance which must be performed on a regular basis; possible adjustments based on manufacturer's recommendations, legislation, and/or status of the warranty
  • Responsibility to analyze records from CMMS (ME2) to identify bad actors and to prioritize preventive maintenance and implementation of solutions
  • Responsible to facilitate causal analyses for trouble points and to troubleshoot equipment in the field
  • Oversees the design and construction of facility modifications, updates and additions; ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, health, and quality expectations on projects - interfaces with Operations to provide support to the facility as required
  • Safeguard the continuity of the operations by improving system/equipment reliability by means of providing input to the 3-year maintenance plan

Ensure Reliable and Safe Operations
  • Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of SH&E principles and values
  • Participates in the Mechanical Integrity initiatives under Process Safety Management
  • Responsible to record, create, maintain, and communicate out-of-service/availability records for terminal equipment and systems
  • Implements safety and environmental regulatory requirements for all facilities as required
  • Keen understanding of environmental, DOT, USCG, safety, health and regulatory requirements
Additional Responsibilities
  • Plans and implements major repairs and upgrades of facility equipment to ensure the most current technology is in place; develops and implements the ongoing program for upgrading terminal technology and operations
  • Advised on purchases of critical spares and other appropriate parts; oversees inventory
  • Evaluates and integrates new technology related to terminal operation; ensures equipment compatibility; performs process evaluations
  • Review and understand Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Responsible for to have up to date Work Instructions/Maintenance Manuals
  • Trains regularly on all Federal, state and local environmental regulations, requirements and guidelines including, but not limited to, RCRA requirements; follows and adheres to all guidelines, regulations, and requirements
  • Participate and successfully complete Safety and Job training classes
  • Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree (Highly preferred) or 2-Year Technical degree with equivalent experience
  • 10+ years working in Maintenance, Technical or Engineering fields
  • 5+ years supervisory experience managing technical professionals
  • Experience in creating, analyzing and working within budgets
  • Experience in writing and implementing processes and procedures
  • Experience working in safety critical environment; strong understanding of process control and material integrity programs
  • Project management and/or experience with construction projects; experience budgeting and planning projects; ability to translate technical plans into laymen's terms and communicate such translations in clear terminology; experience working with government documents
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to create and deliver presentations
  • Customer service focus including the ability to communicate diplomatically; problem solver
  • Experience working with Federal, state and local environmental regulations including RCRA
