In collaboration with a mission-focused and entrepreneurial-minded team, the Digital Marketing Specialist will execute and oversee various campaigns to support outreach efforts and search engine optimization (SEO) strategies that drive results.

The Side-Out Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 2004 to make a significant and identifiable impact on the lives of metastatic breast cancer patients and their families. The organization takes an innovative approach using precision medicine to provide solutions for those with metastatic breast cancer, specifically, with the goal of becoming a source of hope for all those living with breast cancer in search of answers and treatment options. Through our educational and community-driven programs, Dig Pink® and the Ambassador Program, we engage a new generation of young people in advocacy and leadership development.
Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Marketing & Communications, the Digital Marketing Specialist will:
Direct content management strategy across digital platforms, including website, social media, and email;
Track content performance, identify potential story hooks and storytellers, and innovate to optimize existing content;
Collaborate across teams, both internally and third party, to create marketing and engagement campaigns that focus on brand awareness, growth across programs, and education;
Contribute to the development of creative assets to ensure the engagement programs team is equipped with brand aligned materials and messaging;
Support the greater organizational goal of building and engaging community by understanding user behaviors and nurturing customer journey;
Proactively enhance existing strategies by recommending best practices to ensure the organization is relevant, adaptive, and innovative.
Essential Job Duties:
Curate, layout, test, and publish newsletters, email drip campaigns, and other targeted email communications;
Cross-promote stories across all platforms while driving engagement on social media by gathering and guiding content on social media content calendar;
Adapt language on website and blog to encourage conversion and track results;
Support the educational programs team by developing and updating promotional materials for our Dig Pink, Ambassador, and STEM/Grant programs;
Attends SOF and Dig Pink events as necessary;
Attend virtual and in-person meetings and training as approved by the Vice-President of Marketing & Communications;
Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds with the expectation that items in excess of 20 pounds would be broken down into smaller components or additional assistance is required before lifting and/or moving.
Experience and Qualifications:
This tactical position is ideal for a candidate with a solid foundation of marketing and communications skills seeking an opportunity to lead projects. The candidate must be self-motivated, take pride in working autonomously, and be energized by the opportunity to support greater strategy across departments.
Three to five (3-5) years of successful experience in marketing and communications with an emphasis on digital platforms. Strong understanding of web analytics and SEO, newsletter development, email marketing, and social media. Excellent content marketing skills, including writing for different audiences and platforms, understanding of design, and applying project management to yield successful campaigns.
Bachelor's Degree or some college plus experience. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for degree qualifications.
Must have 3-5 years demonstrated experience with digital marketing particularly relating to email marketing, website marketing, community platforms, and social media.
Must possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to strategize, plan, analyze and forecast conversion and engagement.
Skilled in written and oral communications, consultation, and comprehensive planning.
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Employees scheduled to work at least 40 hours per week are eligible to participate in Side-Out Foundation medical, dental, and vision plans on their first day of service.
Side-Out subsidizes medical and dental costs to ensure benefits are affordable.

Unlimited PTO is offered to regular full-time employees. Regular full-time employees are eligible for unlimited PTO after their first 30 days of service.
Full-time employees receive 8 paid holidays per year including: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. In addition, full-time employees also receive paid time off for the regularly scheduled work days between December 26th and January 1st.
SOF also provides Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to provide employees the opportunity to make a difference with an organization of their choice. Full-time employees receive one paid community service day off per year and are encouraged to participate in projects, programs, and organizations which contribute to the health and vitality of their communities.
Leaves of Absence: SOF offers both Short Term and Long-Term Disability benefits which replace earnings if you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. Additionally, SOF provides up to six weeks of paid birth and recovery leave as well as up to four weeks of paid parental leave for eligible employees to allow parents to care for their children and themselves as their families grow.
